Guest dsh
Kyoto Animation Studio has been attacked by some scum of the earth, and many wonderful people in a wonderful animation studio have passed. This studio is responsible for some of the pillars of anime, such as K-On and Violet Evergarden. Please, if you can, throw in something to the gofundme, every little bit will help https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-kyoani-heal?fbclid=IwAR1mGY8bn6zU-hAa-pcba7OUJ7d7aZeUPbxdj-qZFCR-bTDay5JAX6nJlaQ https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-49027178?fbclid=IwAR2R4VlPu9vAqRHE99TpiC9t_qMd_KFH7T1Bj-Y5YM-qnU_nT4Q8Von0-EE Link to comment
Liger
That's some rough shit. Can't say I watch any of their animes but god damn is it tragic. Usually even with fires, there are very minimal casualties but almost everyone in the building either died or is in critical condition in the hospital. Prayers out. Link to comment
dnjsgg
I think there are many people who like Japanese animation. What they went through is very sad Link to comment
Guest NotLikeThis
They've made some really high quality shows and movies. I highly recommend the movie "A Silent Voice" it is one of my favorites. Be warned it is pretty emotional but such a great watch. Edited July 18, 2019 by NotLikeThis Link to comment
ExaliaFaux
I woke up and heard the news. I was so upset when this happened. KyoAni was a BIG inspiration to my art and animation style. It's really sad to see some directors pass like this My prayers go out to all of them and their families. Link to comment
Guest Azoth
KyoAni was the only animation studio I knew by name; they adapted the Key visual novels for a while. So much I don't understand about this like how so many people died to what seems like a fairly straightforward attack, and why someone would attack a studio specializing in moe of all genres. Liger
AFAIK, the two out of the three directors are confirmed to be safe. No updated info on the third. While I was scrolling past my feed I found this video. https://video.twimg.com/ext_tw_video/1151883218720874498/pu/vid/1280x720/2_9fV98oliyiKAfN.mp4?tag=10 It's horrible 33 of them are gone now. "A Silent Voice" was a pretty good movie, and had pretty good memories with my friends because of it, thanks KyoAni. Link to comment
