VDD Not Working on Windows Home
Summary: Windows Home does not reliably support our Virtual Display Driver (VDD).
If you are on Home, VDD may fail to start. The real fix is to upgrade to Windows Pro (or Enterprise/Education).

Who is affected:
- PCs running Windows 10/11 Home (any version, e.g., 22H2).
How to check your Windows edition
Method 1:
- Open Settings.
- Go to System → About.
- Look at Windows edition. If it says Home, this is the cause.
Method 2:
- Press Win + R, type winver, press Enter.
- If the dialog shows Home, you are affected.
Fix options
Option A — Recommended: Upgrade to Windows Pro
- Open Settings → System → Activation.
- Click Open Store or Upgrade to Pro and complete the purchase/activation.
- Restart the PC.
- Reinstall VDD (uninstall → restart → install) and test again.
