My Discord overlay is not enabled

If your Discord overlay isn’t showing up, follow these steps to enable it and make sure it’s toggled on for your games:

  1. Run Discord as Administrator: Right-click the Discord icon on your desktop or start menu and select “Run as Administrator.” This ensures that Discord has the necessary permissions to display the overlay in your games.
  2. Open Discord Settings: Click on the gear icon (⚙️) at the bottom left corner of the Discord window to open User Settings.
  3. Enable Overlay: In the User Settings menu, navigate to the “Overlay” tab located in the sidebar. Toggle the switch to “Enable in-game overlay” to turn it on.
  4. Toggle Overlay: In the User Settings menu, navigate to “Registered Games” and make sure the Overlay is toggled on for your game.
