Apex Legends rebalances its guns every season and again at each midseason split, so a tier list is only worth reading if it says which patch it covers. This one covers Season 30: Marked, which launched on 4 August 2026, including the Split 2 update from 15 September 2026. It is current as of 15 October 2026. Season 31 is expected in early November. If you want every pick to perform at its ceiling, our Apex Legends cheats layer in aimbot and recoil control that keep your aim steady across the whole meta.
What Changed for Weapons in Season 30
A few changes this season move the meta more than any single buff:
- Energy ammo is gone as loot. Energy weapons (HAVOC, Nemesis, Volt, Devotion, RE-45, Triple Take and the L-STAR) now carry a stockpile of magazines that regenerates over time. Regeneration pauses while you fire or reload. You never fight over energy ammo again, which makes the Nemesis and Volt easier to run all game.
- Corrupted Attachments. A new high tier of attachment that gives a bonus with a drawback, such as a bigger magazine with a slower reload. You can only fit one per weapon.
- Care package swap. The 30-30 Repeater moved into the care package with a damage buff and a Shattercaps hop-up that turns its hip fire into a short-range blast. The G7 Scout went back to the floor.
- G7 Scout nerfed on the way out. Double Tap is gone, it can no longer take sniper optics, damage dropped from 37 to 33, and every magazine got smaller.
- Close-range nerfs. The Hemlok, Alternator, RE-45 and R-99 all lost damage or magazine size after they outperformed other short-range guns. The Hemlok’s Breach Charge cooldown also went up from 25 to 30 seconds.
- No more gold weapon rotation. Gold weapons are no longer limited to a small rotating set.
Split 2 on 15 September added targeted long-range buffs: the Triple Take fires faster while aiming and its blue magazine went from 8 to 9; the Bocek Compound Bow carries more arrows (stockpile 40 to 60) and gets more explosive arrows per energize (7 to 10); and the Charge Rifle got a longer max-damage range and a lower selectfire penalty.
Apex Legends Weapons Tier List (Season 30, Split 2)
This is our ranking for pubs and Ranked as of 15 October 2026. It weighs the Season 30 and Split 2 patch notes against the tier lists published since launch, where the Flatline, Prowler and Nemesis show up at or near the top almost everywhere.
| Tier | Assault rifles | SMGs | LMGs | Marksman | Snipers | Shotguns | Pistols |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Care package | L-STAR | 30-30 Repeater | Kraber | ||||
| S | Flatline, Nemesis | Prowler | Wingman | ||||
| A | R-301, HAVOC | Volt, C.A.R. | Triple Take, Bocek | Sentinel, Charge Rifle | Peacekeeper | ||
| B | Hemlok | R-99, Alternator | Devotion, Spitfire, Rampage | G7 Scout | Longbow | EVA-8, Mastiff, Mozambique | RE-45 |
| C | P2020 |
The gaps are small inside each tier. A B-tier gun with a purple magazine and the right Corrupted Attachment will beat an S-tier gun with no attachments.
Care Package Weapons
Kraber .50-Cal Sniper

The Kraber is still the gun that ends fights from across the map. A headshot is usually a knock, and it comes with its own limited ammo, so it never eats into your main gun’s supply. If it lands near you, take it.
L-STAR EMG

The L-STAR moved into the care package in Season 29 with a damage bump and the Redline hop-up, which raises damage and projectile size as the gun nears overheating. It also runs on the new energy stockpile, so you never run dry between fights. It is the best close to mid-range gun in the game when you can get one.
30-30 Repeater

The 30-30 joined the care package this season with more damage per shot and the Shattercaps hop-up, which fires a spread of pellets from the hip. It is now a mid-range lever-action rifle that can also defend itself up close.
Best Guns in Apex by Class
Assault Rifles: VK-47 Flatline

The Flatline is the best floor gun in Season 30 for most players. It hits hard per bullet, its recoil pattern is learnable, and it works from close range out to mid-long range. The Nemesis Burst AR is right behind it, and the energy stockpile change makes it easier than ever to keep firing. The R-301 is still a safe pick if you value easy recoil over damage.
SMGs: Prowler Burst PDW

With the R-99 and Alternator nerfed, the Prowler is the SMG to carry. Its five-round bursts delete shields when you track well, and it is near the top of almost every Season 30 list. The Volt is the easiest SMG to use at range and no longer needs energy ammo from the floor. The C.A.R. remains flexible because it takes both light and heavy rounds.
LMGs: Devotion and Spitfire
The best LMG is the L-STAR, but it lives in the care package. On the floor, LMGs are the weakest class this season. The Devotion gains the most from the energy stockpile, and the Spitfire gives you the biggest magazine for holding angles. The Rampage rounds out the class.
Marksman: Triple Take
The Split 2 buffs moved the Triple Take to the top of the floor marksman weapons: faster fire while aiming and a bigger blue magazine. The Bocek got more arrows and more explosive arrows per energize, which suits players who want a long-range weapon that does not compete with their main gun’s ammo. The G7 Scout is back on the floor but much weaker than it was in the care package.
Snipers: Sentinel and Charge Rifle
The Sentinel is still the most reliable floor sniper, and energizing it adds damage to shields. The Charge Rifle got a longer max-damage range in Split 2 and is worth a look if you hold long sight lines. The Longbow sits behind both.
Shotguns: Peacekeeper
The Peacekeeper rates highest among shotguns in several Season 30 tier lists, thanks to its big hits up close. The EVA-8 and Mastiff are both fine backup shotguns, and the Mozambique is worth more with the akimbo setup than as a single pistol-shotgun.
Pistols: Wingman

The Wingman is still the best pistol and one of the best guns in the game if you can hit your shots. The RE-45 took a nerf this season and now works best as an early finisher. The P2020 is the one gun to replace as soon as you can.

Building a Loadout This Season
Pair a mid-range gun with a close-range gun and you will be ready for most fights:
- Flatline + Prowler is the most reliable floor combo right now.
- Nemesis + Volt runs entirely on regenerating energy stockpiles, so you never hunt for ammo.
- Wingman + Peacekeeper suits players who hit their shots and want the most damage per click.
- Take the Triple Take or Sentinel if your team needs a long-range threat.
Which Legend you play matters too. Our Apex Legends character guide covers the full roster.
Where the Old Picks Went
This guide previously ranked the Season 23 meta from early 2025, when the Nemesis and Volt led and the Hemlok was a top rifle. Since then the 30-30 has moved to the care package, the L-STAR has joined it, the Hemlok has been nerfed, and energy ammo has been replaced by stockpiles. The Nemesis still holds up, which is why it remains near the top here.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best gun in Apex Legends right now?
In Season 30 the VK-47 Flatline is the most consistent floor gun, with the Prowler and Nemesis close behind. If a care package lands nearby, the Kraber and L-STAR are stronger than anything on the floor.
What are the care package weapons in Season 30?
The Kraber, the L-STAR and the 30-30 Repeater. The 30-30 Repeater moved into care packages at the start of Season 30, replacing the G7 Scout, which went back to floor loot.
How many guns are in Apex Legends?
There are 29 guns across seven classes: assault rifles, SMGs, LMGs, marksman weapons, sniper rifles, shotguns and pistols. Three of them (Kraber, L-STAR and 30-30 Repeater) are care package only this season.
Do energy weapons still need ammo in Apex?
No. Since Season 30 energy ammo is no longer a lootable item. Energy weapons such as the Volt, Nemesis, HAVOC and Devotion carry a stockpile of magazines that regenerates over time, and regeneration pauses while you fire or reload.
Can you craft weapons in Apex Legends?
No. Respawn removed crafting materials and the crafting rotation in Season 20 (Breakout). Replicators now print consumables such as shield batteries, medkits and ammo, plus banners, but not guns.
When does the Apex meta change next?
Season 31 is expected in early November 2026. Respawn usually changes the care package and rebalances weapons at each season launch, so this tier list will need updating then.
