How to use item duplication (duping) in DayZ

How the dupe works

Duplication runs off magazines. Every time you copy an item, the cheat spends one compatible magazine from your inventory. That is the only cost. Keep a stack of magazines and you can dupe as much as you like.

What you need

You use one magazine every time you duplicate an item, so there is a small cost per dupe. You will also need a gun that is compatible with those magazines.

• A gun that takes the magazines you are duping with
• One magazine loaded in that gun
• One or more spare compatible magazines in your inventory
• A protective case or similar container to hold spares

Never run out of magazines

You can also duplicate containers, not just single items. Fill a protective case (or any similar container) with magazines and dupe the whole case. Do that once and you have a fresh stack ready, so you can keep duping without running out.

How to duplicate an item

Once you have a loaded gun and a spare magazine, the dupe itself is four steps.

• Hold the gun with a magazine inserted
• Have another compatible magazine in your inventory
• Select the item you want to duplicate
• Press the duplicate hotkey once

What happens next

The magazine will disappear and the selected item will appear to move. Each time the item moves, it has actually been duplicated. You just will not see the duplicate until you relog or restart the game. Log back in and the copies are there.

Why the copies are hard to detect

The duplicated items receive unique item IDs. Because the copies are not clones that share an ID, it is difficult for server-side anti-cheat to catch them the way it would flag a normal dupe. Keep your settings sensible, top up your stockpile, and check live status in Discord before you load in.
