Use borderless windowed
Set the game to Borderless or Windowed Fullscreen. Exclusive fullscreen is not supported, and it is the usual reason an overlay flickers or vanishes. Any windowed or borderless resolution works.
Get the best possible performance
- Enable Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling:
Settings → System → Display → Graphics → Advanced graphics settings - Set the game refresh rate to match your monitor, and cap FPS to it
- Turn off other on-screen overlays, such as the NVIDIA or AMD overlay and Overwolf, so nothing fights for the same layer
- Enable Performance Mode in your GPU and PC power profile
G-Sync and FreeSync
Both are fine. Enable G-Sync or FreeSync for windowed and fullscreen apps, not fullscreen only, so it applies to a borderless game.
Keep the basics in place
