Useful in the right build or with the right team.
How the survivor tier list works
Why this ranks perks, and who is worth unlocking first.
It is about perks, not stats
Every survivor moves, hides and goes down at the same rate. The only mechanical difference is the three teachable perks each one brings, which you can later share to other survivors through the Bloodweb. So a survivor tier list is really a ranking of those signature perks, which is exactly how this one is built.
S-tier survivors this season
- Bill Overbeck Unbreakable
Brings Unbreakable, the staple pick-yourself-up second chance.
- David King Dead Hard
Dead Hard remains a defining exhaustion perk in chase.
- Meg Thomas Sprint Burst
Sprint Burst and Adrenaline are core chase and endgame perks.
- Laurie Strode Decisive Strike
Decisive Strike punishes tunnelling right after an unhook.
- Mikaela Reid Boon: Circle of Healing
Defines boon builds with Circle of Healing and Shadow Step.
- Gabriel Soma Made for This
Made for This stacks endurance and speed in chase.
- Thalita Lyra Background Player
Background Player enables flashlight and body-block saves.
- Zarina Kassir Off the Record
Off the Record protects and hides you after an unhook.
Turn perks into a build
Once you know which perks you want, put four together in the perk builder, or let the survivor build generator roll one for you.
Right perks, plus full vision
The Elocarry Dead by Daylight cheat adds survivor, killer, totem and chest ESP in one undetected build from £7.99.
Dead by Daylight Survivor Tier List FAQ
Is there really a best survivor in Dead by Daylight?
Every survivor has identical stats, so no character is mechanically stronger. What separates them is their three unique teachable perks. This list ranks survivors by how strong those signature perks are in the current meta.
Who is the best survivor to unlock first?
For perks, the S-tier picks give you the most value: Bill Overbeck, David King, Meg Thomas, Laurie Strode, Mikaela Reid, Gabriel Soma, Thalita Lyra, Zarina Kassir. Bill brings Unbreakable, Meg brings Sprint Burst and Adrenaline, and David brings Dead Hard, all staples of strong builds.
Does my survivor choice affect gameplay?
Only through perks and cosmetics. Hitboxes, speed and health are the same for everyone. Once you have unlocked the perks you want through the Bloodweb or the Shrine, the character you play is purely preference.
What do the playstyle tags mean?
Each survivor is tagged by what their signature perk leans into: chase, altruism, stealth, info, boon or general utility. Use the filter to find survivors whose perks fit how you like to play.
How often does the tier list change?
It shifts whenever perks are reworked or new survivors release. This is a curated current-meta ranking focused on the established roster.
Is the tier list free?
Yes. Completely free, no account. Filter by playstyle, search any survivor or perk, and hover for a quick breakdown.
