Defending in EA FC is where most players lose matches, and it is almost never the tackle that loses them. It is the defender pulled out of the box, the jockey angle that opens the finesse, the lunge a second early that gives the attacker the run. The defending assist is built around position first and the tackle second.
Box edge tracking and controlled positioning support keep your defender where the attacker wants to shoot from. Shooting lane protection and finesse angle protection put your body on the line the shot would take. Jockey support holds the angle as the attacker moves, and tackle timing guidance and pressure timing guidance show the moment the ball is there to be won. Defensive tracking assistance and the tracking lines in the overlay show what it is watching.

Shows the moment the ball is out of the attacker's feet and there to be won, so the tackle is clean.

Tracks the runner your defender is responsible for so a late run does not go unmarked.

Holds the shape
Box edge tracking and controlled positioning support keep the defender between the attacker and the goal rather than chasing the ball, which is the position every cut-back and every finesse needs you to leave.
Closes the angle
Shooting lane protection and finesse angle protection read the shot the attacker is shaping for and put your body across it, and jockey support holds that angle as they move.
Times the tackle
Tackle timing guidance and pressure timing guidance show the moment the ball is out of the attacker's feet, so the tackle wins the ball instead of the attacker winning a penalty.
Why the EA FC 27 Defending Assist wins matches

Does the EA FC 27 defending assist defend for me?
It reads the position and the timing and shows them in the overlay, with support on the jockey and the tackle. Manual Input Only keeps every press yours and Recommendation Only mode shows the read without any help on the input. How much it assists is a setting.
What does box edge tracking do?
It keeps your defender on the edge of the box, where finesse shots and cut-backs come from, instead of following the ball wide. Most goals conceded in Rivals come from a defender leaving that space.
What is finesse angle protection?
The finesse shot from the edge of the box needs an angle to curl into the far corner. Finesse angle protection reads that angle and puts your defender's body across it, so the shot is blocked or forced onto the weak foot.
Does it help with the jockey?
Yes. Jockey support holds the angle between the attacker and the goal as they move, which is the part of jockeying most players lose when the attacker changes direction.
When does the EA FC 27 defending assist launch?
