Role first, hero second
The role question carries the most weight because it decides what you do for the whole match. A Vanguard who wants kills and a Duelist who wants to protect people are both playing the wrong class. Once the role is right, the fighting-style and movement questions pick the hero inside it. The Marvel Rivals character guide covers every hero by role if you want the long version.
Difficulty is a real cost
An S-tier hero you cannot pilot loses to a B-tier hero you can. That is why the practice question can pull the result away from the top of the tier list. If you answered "I will grind a hard hero", expect Spider-Man, Black Panther, Psylocke or Doctor Strange to show up, and expect a few evenings before they feel good. The worst characters list is worth a read before you commit to an underdog.
Then build around them

Found your hero? Skip the grind
The hard heroes the quiz recommends are hard because of execution: the combo, the flick, the ultimate you have to hold. Which Marvel Rivals hero should I play?
It depends on the role you enjoy, how you like to fight, how much practice you will put in and what you hate facing. The quiz above asks exactly those six things and scores every hero in the roster against your answers, then shows the three that fit best with a reason for each.
What is the best hero for a beginner?
Pick an easy hero in the role you want. The roster marks Groot and Captain America and The Thing as the easy Vanguards, Star-Lord, Wolverine, Squirrel Girl as the easy Duelists and Mantis and Jeff the Land Shark as the easy Strategists. Answer "I want to win tonight" on the practice question and the quiz stays inside that group.
How does the quiz decide?
Each answer adds points to the heroes it fits: the role question favours that class, the fighting question reads each hero's playstyle, the practice question uses difficulty, the meta question uses tier, and the "what do you hate facing" question uses what each hero is strong against. The three highest totals win.
Is it the same roster as the tier list?
Yes. The quiz, the tier list, the team builder and the hero randomizer all read one shared roster, so a hero's tier, difficulty and matchups are the same wherever you see them on the site.
Can I share my result?
Yes. Share result copies a link that carries your answers, so a friend opens the same three heroes. Nothing is stored on our side.
