A few reasons people spin instead of picking.
Break out of a three-hero rut
Most players run the same three heroes all season. Spinning the roster in Quick Play is the fastest way to learn how the other forty play, which makes you better against them in ranked too. Check where each spin sits in our Marvel Rivals tier list before you load in, and read who they beat in the counters guide.
Role roulette with your stack
Set the role filter so each of you spins your own lane, share the results by link, then drop the six picks into the team builder to see which Team-Ups you accidentally built. The Team-Ups guide explains why that matters more than the tier.
Not sure who to main? Ask instead of spinning
Random is fun for a night. For a hero to stick with, the which hero should I play quiz asks six questions about how you like to fight and scores the whole roster against them, and the character guide covers every hero by role.

What is the Marvel Rivals hero randomizer?
A free random hero picker. Spin it and it picks one of the 46 heroes in the roster, shows their role, difficulty, tier and playstyle, and what they are strong and weak against. Share the result with a link.
Can I limit it to one role?
Yes. Filter by Vanguard, Duelist or Strategist before you spin, so a randomizer for a support main only spins the 9 Strategists. Difficulty and tier filters stack on top.
Can I stop certain heroes coming up?
Yes. Open the roster under the spinner and click any hero to drop them from the pool. The list is saved on this device, so the heroes you never want to play stay out until you put them back.
Which heroes are easiest for a random pick?
The roster marks Groot, Captain America, The Thing, Star-Lord, Wolverine and a few others as easy. They reward good positioning without the execution of a Spider-Man or a Black Panther, so they are the safest spins for a new player.
Is this the same roster as the tier list?
Yes. The randomizer, the tier list, the team builder and the hero quiz all read one shared roster, so a hero's tier and difficulty are the same wherever you see them on the site.
Is the randomizer free?
Completely free, no account. Spin as often as you like, exclude whoever you like, and share any result by link.
