Explorer add-ons and Windows mods
Our current framework does not get along with software that plugs into Windows Explorer or mods how Windows behaves. These programs crash the cheat or stop it working. Support sees MEGAsync, Nextcloud and Windhawk most often.
- Cloud sync clients that add status icons or right-click menu entries to File Explorer, such as MEGAsync and Nextcloud
- Windows modding and customisation tools that hook into Explorer and other programs, such as Windhawk
- Other tools that reskin or extend File Explorer, the taskbar or the Start menu work the same way, so remove them while you test
How to remove them
- Open
Settings → Apps → Installed apps - Uninstall MEGAsync, Nextcloud, Windhawk and any similar tool
- Restart your PC
- Run the loader again
Boot-time anti-cheats from other games
Riot Vanguard, FACEIT and ESEA load when Windows starts. They can stop the loader opening and crash the overlay. Uninstall them and restart. You can reinstall them when you want to play those games again, but they have to be gone before you inject.
Other overlays and clipping tools
Turn these off. They draw on the same layer as the ESP or cost the GPU time, which shows up as a missing overlay, FPS drops or crashes. Keep the Discord overlay or RTSS set up as your setup guide says.
- The NVIDIA overlay and the AMD Adrenalin overlay
- Overwolf
- Auto replay and clipping in NVIDIA, Discord, SteelSeries and similar apps
- Performance monitors, RGB and peripheral software you do not need running
HTTPS interception tools
Fiddler, mitmproxy and similar tools install certificates that let them read encrypted traffic. The anti-leak system flags them, and the product cannot run on a network with broken SSL. Both guides below walk through removing the tool, its certificates and its proxy settings.
Antivirus
Security software can block or delete the loader for what it does. Add the loader to your antivirus exclusions, or turn real-time protection off while it starts, then switch it back on.
Not sure what is causing it?
Uninstall anything on this page you do not need, restart, and test again. If it still crashes, ask Barry in Discord or open a ticket and list what is installed. Support can also look at your PC directly over AnyDesk.
Common questions
Do I have to uninstall MEGAsync, or can I just close it?
Uninstall it and restart. Its Explorer integration stays loaded in Windows after you close the app, so closing it does not stop the crash.
Can I reinstall these after I finish playing?
Yes, but they have to be uninstalled, and the PC restarted, before you inject again.
Why did this start happening now?
The cheat moved to a new framework, and these programs conflict with it. Software that never caused trouble on the old framework can crash the new one.
