Russia, Turkey and Ukraine: why you need a VPN

If you play from Russia, Turkey or Ukraine, run Elocarry through a full VPN. An unblocker or a proxy may get Discord loading, but it does not cover everything Elocarry connects to.

Quick answer
In Russia, Turkey and Ukraine, connect a VPN that routes all of your PC traffic before you run the loader, and keep split tunnelling off. Discord unblockers, browser VPN extensions and proxies only cover part of your traffic, so the loader still hits the block.

Who needs this

Anyone playing from Russia, Turkey or Ukraine. Connections Elocarry depends on are blocked or throttled there. The same applies anywhere else Discord is blocked or limited.

Why an unblocker or proxy is not enough

Unblockers, proxies and browser VPN extensions only reroute some of the connections on your PC, usually the browser or the Discord app. The loader makes its own connections from PowerShell, and those still go out on your normal connection and hit the block. A VPN that tunnels all traffic on the PC covers everything at once.

Set it up

  1. Install a VPN app for Windows that routes all traffic on the PC. A browser extension will not work.
  2. Turn split tunnelling off, or make sure PowerShell and the loader are not excluded from the tunnel.
  3. Connect to a server in a country outside Russia, Turkey and Ukraine.
  4. Open Discord, then run the loader command in PowerShell as administrator.

Still not connecting?

  • Try a different VPN server or country
  • Check your Windows clock is synced: Fix your system clock
  • Run the DNS and IPv6 fix
  • Ask Barry or open a ticket, and say which country you are in and which VPN you use

Common questions

Will a proxy or a Discord unblocker work?

Not in Russia, Turkey or Ukraine. They only cover part of your traffic, and the loader still hits the block. Use a VPN that routes everything on the PC.

Which country should I connect to?

Any country outside Russia, Turkey and Ukraine. A nearby one usually keeps the connection fastest.

Do the DNS and IPv6 fixes help instead?

Not with a block like this. They fix ordinary connection problems, but they do not get you past an internet provider blocking the connection. You need the VPN.
